
Architect specialized in Garden Art and Landscape Architecture, Phd in Landscape Architecture, lives in Florence. She obtained the European Master in Architectonic and Urban Restoration at the E.T.S.A.M. (Madrid), the ICOMOS-IFLA diploma in Historic Garden Conservation and the qualification of Historic Garden and Park Restoration at the Accademia delle Arti del Disegno of Florence.
Since 1995, is a practising architect and landscape architect, working on landscape planning and evaluation and in landscape and garden design. Her prevalent research object and professional interest is the urban landscape dimension, in particular with reference to the biodiversity issue, the playscape, the restoration of ordinary landscape and the aesthetic of contemporary urban garden.
Since 1994, she have carried on researches and teaching in Landscape Architecture. Former professor of Landscape Architecture at the University of Perugia (Italy), since 2006 she has been professor at the Interfaculty Master in Landscape Architecture of the University of Florence, and she has extensively lectured at a range of Italian universities including those of Venice, Rome, Milan, Padua, Trento, Bologna.
She got various scholarship (CNR short-term mobility, ICOMOS-IFLA, University of Florence, University of Rome) and carried on international researches in Madrid (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, 1998) and in Paris (Laboratoire Architectures, Milieux, Paysages, La Villette 2006).
She deal with cultural and scientific communication through the organization of workshops, seminars and conferences (national and international) in collaboration with Universities and Private and Public Corporations.
She is autor of “Fare parchi urbani”, Firenze University Press, special mention at the International Prize Hambury-Grinzane Cavour 2005; “Vertical Garden”, Verbavolant 2007 (edited in Italian, English, French and German version); “Atlante delle Nature Urbane” (with Maurizio Corrado), Editrice Compositori 2011.
Her papers appeared in review of Italian and International importance: A+U, Controspazio, Architettura del Paesaggio, Nemeton, Ri-Vista, Les Lettres Françaises, Ottagono.
From 2009 to 2010 she was member of the scientific committee of the review Nemeton Magazine, and since 2010 she has been member of the editorial board of the review Architettura del Paesaggio. She is registered member of the AIAPP (Italian Association of Landscape Architecture) and the treasurer of the AIAPP’s Section of Toscana Umbria and Marche.
